G'day! I'm Brodie, a gardener from Brisbane and avid bonsai enthusiat.
Working with plants has been a passion of mine for many years, so I left my job as a software and robotics engineer to pursue this passion full-time.
I packed up my life and travelled throughout Japan. I then left for to North America where I worked full-time as a gardener.
After these invaluable experiences abroad, I'm back home in sunny Brisbane and working with people to craft a joint vision for their garden, to bring it to life and then maintain it, keeping it looking beautiful all year round.
Travelling Japan, I met the famous bonsai masters and growers of Tokyo, Omiya village and Takamatsu. I also visited the famous gardens of Kyoto, Tokyo and Yasugi. I take great inspiration from the Japanese culture and try to integrate the beauty of Japanese gardens (wabi-sabi) into my work. This photo is of a beautiful Juniper bonsai whose age is measured in centuries.
I left Japan for North America to pursue my passion for gardening. Working with over 30 clients I gained experience on various types of gardens, from those created by architects to small and large estates. My work was not only new designs and maintenance but included coaching new gardeners and assisting older ones.
I have a love for gardening and a joy to share with the world after returning home. I believe in the power of planting trees to beautify the environment and inspire others. I follow an old proverb that says, 'The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.'
