Still Spring but a bit dry!
October is the perfect time for:
Supplement fertiliser and water- Dont prune if dry
- Mulch
- Prune poinsettia and snowflake bush
- Prune spring-flowering bushed if finished
- Deadhead (incl. grevilleas, melaleucas, callistemons, gold penda)
- Cut back acalyphas, crotons and cordylines (propogate prunings)
- Cut back summer flowering tropicals if not done (allamanda, pentas, plumbago)
- Supplement water to (hydrangeas, gardenis and ixora) if dry
- Plant shows and events
- Buy plants (best selection at nurserys)
- Get heavy landscaping done before the hot weather Christmas and new years entertaining
